Denitza Vassileva
Denitza Vassileva leads the Business Coordination, Tax and Transfer Pricing practice at Vassilev & Partners Law Firm. She serves as the principal coordination point between the client, the legal team and the firm’s tax and accounting team, organising their interaction and coordinating the work on complex engagements. Her role is focused on ensuring that the legal, tax, accounting, financial and operational aspects of client projects are considered in a consistent and integrated manner, and on developing practical solutions tailored to each client’s business activities, organisational structure and specific commercial objectives.
Denitza has more than 20 years of practical professional experience in managing companies, multinational teams and cross-border projects in Bulgaria, France, Spain and Germany. Her professional background combines legal training and experience as in-house legal counsel for international companies with subsequent management roles in international business, exports, production management and the coordination of activities between companies, teams and counterparties across different jurisdictions.
Her experience covers international contractual relations, corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and the organisation of cross-border business processes. She has worked closely with management, legal, financial, accounting, commercial and operational teams, enabling her to assess individual matters within the wider context of the client’s overall business model, the actual allocation of functions and responsibilities, and the practical implementation of planned operations.
A particular focus of Denitza’s work is assisting foreign companies with establishing and developing their operations in Bulgaria. She supports the initial assessment and structuring of the intended activities, organisational framework, business processes and intra-group relations, as well as the establishment of the necessary local administrative and operational arrangements. Her international experience and familiarity with different business environments facilitate effective communication with foreign shareholders, directors, chief financial officers and project teams, and support the successful adaptation of their planned activities to the Bulgarian business environment.
In the areas of tax and transfer pricing, Denitza coordinates the collection and organisation of the relevant business, contractual and financial information, the clarification of the functions performed, assets used and risks assumed by the participating entities, and the preparation of the information required by the tax, accounting and legal specialists involved. Her role is particularly important in matters involving international groups and related parties, where the contractual arrangements, actual allocation of activities and economic rationale of intra-group transactions must be analysed consistently and in their proper relationship to one another.
Denitza also has practical entrepreneurial and management experience in establishing and developing structures providing accounting, administrative, engineering and IT outsourcing services to French, Spanish and German clients. Her work in this area includes organising specialised teams, coordinating services for international clients and adapting their activities and business processes to the Bulgarian environment.
The combination of legal training, international management experience and a practical understanding of business, tax and administrative processes enables Denitza to support the implementation of complex projects in which the legal structure must reflect the actual business model and its financial, accounting and operational implications. Her work contributes both to the successful entry of foreign investors into the Bulgarian market and to the development and restructuring of established companies with international operations.
