Last week’s ETL GLOBAL Working Groups Meeting in Castelldefels, Barcelona was an inspiring and dynamic event that once again showcased the strength of our international network.
We were proud to take part, with Zornitsa Vassileva and Denitza Vassileva representing us across eight key working groups, contributing to discussions spanning law, real estate, tax, and beyond.
The Law Working Group focused on International Legal and Tax Collaboration, with valuable insights shared by Vojtěch Sucharda and Steve Kuncewicz .
The Real Estate Working Group addressed investments, asset and share deals, taxation, and real estate clauses in double tax treaties, led by Katarzyna Kozakowska. Further highlights included Inheritance Tax by Alexander Kramer, Municipal Pre-emptive Rights by Fabian Lünsmann, LL.M. (Cape Town) Lunsmann, LL.M (UCT) and Lorenzo Fabbri, and The Evolution of the Irish Property Market presented by David Breen.
In the M&A Group, Daniel Varney led insightful discussions on market activity, sector trends, and growth opportunities.
The VAT Group offered valuable updates: EU VAT led by Fernando MatesanzMetesanz; Non-EU VAT insights from Synnøve Sørdal (Magnus Legal) and Anette Holzinger(MGR UK); the Reform of the Italian VAT Code presented by Natalia Operti (RLVT Italy); and New E-Invoicing Rules in Poland shared by Moczko-Wdowczyk Sabina.
The Tax Group, excellently moderated by Till JOUAUX, explored Pillar 2 implementation, e-invoicing developments, and changes in royalties and license fee regulations.
Global Mobility, led by Anna Misiak and Elena Escura Esteban, compared board member remuneration taxation across jurisdictions.
The Payroll Workshop, with Tomislav Urbic, sparked great discussion on providing international payroll solutionswithin the ETL network.
Finally, the Transfer Pricing Group, driven by Magdalena Dymkowska and Arely Almaguer Muñoz, covered Benchmarking Studies, Branch vs. LLC in Serbia presented by Dragana Ašić Ratkovac, and Digitalisation of Public Services in the EUshared by Patryk Rąk .
It was a privilege to exchange insights and engage in meaningful discussions with colleagues from around the world. The meeting once again demonstrated the strength of the ETL Global network — built on knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and mutual support.
