Vassilev & Partners Law Firm at the MNL Africa Leadership Circle in Nairobi Building bridges between Bulgaria, Europe and Africa

Vassilev & Partners Law Firm was pleased to be represented by its Managing Partner, Konstantin Vassilev, at the inaugural MNL Africa Leadership Circle and the 7th MN Legal Anniversary Gala Dinner, held in Nairobi, Kenya.

Hosted by MN Legal at Villa Rosa Kempinski, the forum brought together business leaders, investors, policymakers, regulators, legal practitioners, innovators and private sector representatives from Africa, Europe and beyond. Over two days, the participants engaged in focused discussions on “Doing Business in Kenya & Africa”.

The conversations went well beyond introductions. They addressed some of the key issues shaping Africa’s next stage of economic development — investment readiness, regulatory predictability, legal frameworks for cross-border business, digital infrastructure, responsible AI, sustainable energy, ESG, diaspora investment and the practical cooperation required to turn opportunities into long-term partnerships.

For us, the event was both inspiring and highly practical.

As a Bulgarian business-oriented law firm working with local and international clients, we see significant value in the development of stronger business corridors between Europe and Africa. Bulgarian companies are increasingly looking beyond traditional markets, while Africa offers not only scale, talent and ambition, but also a growing need for reliable legal structuring, regulatory navigation and trusted local partnerships.

Our contribution to the discussions was to bring a Bulgarian and European legal perspective to the table in a practical context: how businesses can structure market entry, manage legal and commercial risk, build compliant cross-border operations and use trusted professional networks to move from interest to execution.

Events such as the MNL Africa Leadership Circle are important because they create the kind of environment in which meaningful business cooperation can begin — not through abstract statements, but through direct conversations between the people who build, invest, regulate, advise and execute.

We are grateful to Evelyne Mbula Nzuki, LL.M, MCIArb and the entire MN Legal team for the invitation, the excellent organisation and the warm hospitality in Nairobi.

The event may be over, but the relationships built, ideas exchanged and opportunities opened are only just beginning.
