We assist private and business clients in legal disputes by providing comprehensive support from the initial assessment of the case through to its final resolution and the enforcement of the resulting decision. We approach each dispute with regard to its legal, economic and practical aspects, seeking the most appropriate way to protect the client’s interests.

Areas of Procedural Representation

We provide procedural representation in a broad range of civil, commercial and administrative disputes, including contractual and non-contractual disputes, property disputes, employment disputes, family and inheritance matters, consumer disputes, banking and financial disputes, administrative and tax disputes, as well as cases with an international element. We also assist in disputes related to intellectual and industrial property, insurance matters, enforcement proceedings, non-contentious proceedings and other proceedings in which legal protection before a court, arbitral tribunal or other competent authority is required.

Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods

Where possible and in the client’s best interest, we assist in resolving disputes outside the courtroom through negotiations, mediation, settlements, debt restructuring, set-off arrangements, settlement of disputed relationships and other appropriate mechanisms. The aim is to achieve a practical, effective and economically justified solution without immediately resorting to court proceedings.

Pre-Trial Phase

We assist from the very early stage of the dispute through examination and analysis of the case, collection and assessment of relevant evidence, preparation of legal opinions and planning of the subsequent steps. We prepare notices, objections, statements of claim, demands and other documents, conduct negotiations on behalf of the client and advise on the possibilities for voluntary settlement, securing future claims and choosing the most appropriate strategy.

Arbitration

We assist in arbitration disputes both in Bulgaria and before international arbitral institutions where the dispute is subject to arbitration. We provide representation in arbitration proceedings, assist with the recognition and enforcement of foreign court judgments and arbitral awards, as well as in proceedings related to challenging or setting aside arbitral awards, where permitted by law.

Court Phase

We provide procedural representation at all stages of court proceedings. We prepare statements of claim, responses, submissions, objections, appeals and other court documents, participate in court hearings, organise and present evidence, and defend the client’s interests before the relevant court instance. We also assist in appeals against court judgments and rulings where this is necessary for the full protection of the client’s rights and interests.

Post-Trial Phase

Following the issuance of a court judgment or arbitral award, we assist in its enforcement, including through the initiation and conduct of enforcement proceedings. We advise the client on the most appropriate enforcement measures, represent the client in compulsory enforcement proceedings and monitor the lawfulness of the actions of the enforcement officer. The objective is to ensure that the decision issued in the client’s favour leads to a real practical result.
